W.J. Preston

Where is Innisfree

I could not find that bee loud glade
Where lapping waters brush the shore,
Where crickets sing in soft cascade,
To hear it in the deep hearts core.

No midnights glimmer did I see,
No purple noon in all its glow,
No linnets wings to comfort me
Or peace that came a dropping slow.

W.J. Preston lives in Greece and has appeared in a number of poetry journals.
